Hello guys, I have a problem with Fraps and I hope some of you could maybe help me.
I seriously had never really problems with Fraps, when I used Windows XP. Now I have bought Windows 7 and got immideatly a big problem with it.
I record my games with Fraps and ALSO use my microphone to speak over them.
There are NO sync problem for the video itself. The game and the game audio are sync together. The problem is my headset. Every time Im speaking while playing it records my voice with a delay of half a second. That mean when I watch my recorded video Im talking about things that gonna happen in half a second. Okay its not that big problem but its still annoying. Have somebody of you maybe an idea how to sync my headset voice together with the game video?

    Thank you in advance!

You could use windows recorder or something to record a voice over after you have recorded your video, and then join them together?

Only other thing I can think of is using something to record your voice at the same time other than Fraps and joining them as well.

Because Fraps only records one stream and not two I wouldn't know how to sync them up. :(

Well, I have the same problem, but my interval is about 2-5 seconds. Recording my own voice with another program is not a solution, as I cancel and continue fraps when I need it.

I will continue to check if anybody had the same and problem and a solution.

I had the same problem, but it seems I found a solution that fixed it for me:

Change the default format for all playback devices and recording devices to 44100 Hz instead of 48000 Hz.

So in details: right-click the speaker in the taskbar, choose recording devices, go to properties of the microphone, change default format to 44100 Hz (instead of 48000)

And do the same to all sound settings, e.g. I changed my digital output / soundcard settings, choosing 24bit 44100 Hz instead of 48000 Hz, etc.

For me, this not only fixed the audio sync problem (recorded voice out of sync on longer sessions) and also the "lag" when Fraps changed files. (plus I can skip audio conversion when doing 44.1KHz MP3 compression)

I've seen this posted as the "fix" for the out of sync issue but I've done this 3 or 4 times and still have the sync issue.

I record Minecraft and the games audio and also use a mic for me. After about 2gb ish in a 4gb recording it starts to go out of sync till its about 1/2 sec ish out by the end. I've tried lowering the recording resolution or FRP and its still the same with all settings. I also try and fix the avi post recording but have yet found a reliable way to do this. The virtualdub "change FPS to match audio length" doesn't work either

This is getting me down as I'm really getting into my Lets Play and trying to sort this sync issue is taking up hours of time to no avail.

Is there another thing I can try?

I don't understand the "done this 3 or 4 times and still have the sync issue", because you set the default format for playback and recording devices once
    and that's it.

Make sure you change it for input (mic) too. And updating to the latest version of Fraps & sound drivers (and all other drivers) ofc.

If this doesn't help, I don't know other ways, because changing the format for recording and playback to 44100 Hz fixed it for me

what I mean is I've changed it back and forth a few times with no difference. Glad it worked for you but I guess that it isnt the cure all solution for eveyone!

Can anyone from FRAPS comment on the audio lag that so many of us suffer from?

The best way I found to fix it AFTER the recording process was to load the avi file into a video editor and stretch or shrink the audio so it is all in sync. It's odd that it's never a uniform lag for each recording either. Oh well....let's hold my breath for a support response.
