Being able to stream with fraps would be nice.

I was thinking to myself that in the past few years, streaming your gaming footage has become much more popular.

While I don't think this new interest will be the death of pre-recorded/edited footage, I do think that people are becoming more interested in live footage of gaming, despite the lack of nonstop amazing clips that get woven together in a record/edit/upload type setup.

There are a few programs out there that allow programs such as Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder to hook into them as a capture device, similar to a camera. The one I prefer has a website only in japanese, which made things confusing for me at first. You essentially tell it what program is going to be picking up the capture, and then it launches and lets you set some options, some of which are similar to fraps.

Since I do live streaming exclusively for gaming, I would love to see a "streaming" tab be added to fraps, that lets you somehow select a running directx process and have it show up as an available capture device in something like AFMLE. Something like this:

Just a thought I had. Note that the above is Photoshopped, you can't actually do that at the moment.

Adding to this, there would probably need to be a way to hook into currently running games other than hitting a hotkey.

A dropdown menu that lists processes currently running through directx might be a good way?
