Live Commentary with Fraps

Please tell me how can I do a live commentary using fraps .I want to record my voice+ audio of the game at the same time I'm playing .

you need to unmute the mic in the audio control panel. This will be really strange for you to listen to your own voice coming through the speakers, but it works.

Another easy way for you to do this would be to log into a ventrilo server, and record yourself while playing and just mix it in later. Ventrilo lets you output recordings to a wav file.

How can I unmute my mic .I am using Vista .I have a realtek sound manager and the other is Playback and Recording Devices :confused: .Please explain step by step .

This might work:


Rightclick the volume icon in the taskbar
Select 'Recording Devices'
Select 'Microphone', Rightclick > Properties
Select 'Listen' Tab, Check 'listen to this device'
Select the dropdown list for 'Playback through this device' and select your device you have ventrilo recording through (most likely listed as 'speakers').
Click 'apply', talk into your mic and you should hear yourself through the speakers.

You might have to turn off your actual speakers though, or while recording you will be receiving feedback from the game/yourself talking.
