View Full Version : Fraps not recording sounds

Hi there.

Short and simple, my fraps won't record my sounds from in-game.

That's a link for how my settings look. And yes, I am Swedish.
If you look at the picture, and the two rings I made. I have come to understand that you need "Stereo Mix" activated. And well, it seems to med it is. But why would the volume under "Stereo Mix" be gray? Is it not activated after all?
I assumed that my sound card supports the mixer-thing because of the settings in the Realtek HD Audio Manager.

As you can see in the Fraps window, I'm not getting the "What you hear" option at all. Doesn't matter which box i check.

So, please help me.

That is the main thing that stands out to me, generally if something is greyed out it is either not active, or something else is retaining control of that setting. Can you adjust a similar setting using the realtek audio panel in one of the other tabs not shown in the screenshot? If there is a setting to let windows handle the volume levels and other settings, I would encourage trying that route to see if it fixes your issue.

I'm sorry to say that there is no such thing. Everything that involves recording is in that screenshot..

I can't really offer a suggestion to you since I run a different soundcard. In my case I have a Creative x-fi, and the option "Vista Direct Stream" is displayed. If you do find out a fix I'd love for you post it here so others with the same problem will know what to do.
