All of a sudden i relized that my comp didnt execute fraps on startup like normal. when i tried to do it manually i got this error. "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." im the administrator on my computer so i dont know why it wont let me use the program. i tried googling to figure out the problem and i saw somewhere that there should be an "unblock" button at the properties window but there is no button in the spot shown in the screenshots ive seen so i have no clue whatsoever how to start using fraps again. can somebody help me out with this? im using windows 7 btw.

Hmmm, I have not seen this Unbock thing, and have no clue what it does.

I think normally when that happens it's because the program's installation is corrupt, or your shortcut is set to the wrong place.

You could try installing it again.

You can also try right clicking the .exe and clicking run as administrator.

Maybe if I knew what this unblock button does then I might be able to help more.

Try the things mentioned here:

http://helpdeskgeek.com/help-desk/windows-cannot-access-the-specified-device-path-or-file/

Be sure you're working with the actual .exe and not the shortcut

Oh, so that's what it is.

Ok, I think I understand this Unblock. I have used a small button in the right click context menu of windows to give me control of explorer for themes and so on, which are generally a pain to do otherwise due to windows 7 stupid over the top security system.

Anyways, I think http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/05/21/take-and-grant-full-control-permissions-and-ownership-in-windows-7-or-vista-right-click-menu/ is what you are looking for.
