i wanna record desktop and a fullscreen app in one session. meaning the desktop, starting an application, tabbing etc. the problem is when i turn dwm on the record stays at the last desktopframe after launching the app and when i turn off dwm i cant record desktop at all. fraps doesnt give alot of options regarding the record settings, so is it possible at all? im using fraps 3.2.1 and win7 32b

I don't think thats possible currently, I'm pretty sure when you hit record it locks into whatever you have in focus. If it isn't a 3d app you might look into camtasia for recording.

Camtasia will do this. There are a few programs that will too but camtasia is probably the better choice.

When you say scratchy, you mean that the fps is bad I'm guessing?

If that's the case, you need to change the recording codec in the recorder options.

I can't remember how I exactly had it set up since it's been a while since I used to use it, but I'm sure that the 2 best codecs to use are either DIVX, which you need to set up to work as best it can, or install Xfire and use their codec.

I remember a long time ago it used to work with the fraps codec but for some reason it no longer does. That was the best one to use. :D
