Recording with USB Headset Problems

Currently running FRAPS 3.0.3 and having a bit of issue with audio. If I don't enable the
Record Windows 7 sound, my voice sounds crystal clear and all is well. However, if I do enable it, the audio quality (just on my voice) changes significantly. I'm using a USB headset (Logitech wireless) and have a feeling that's the issue is.

Is there anyway to improve that vocal quality at all. If it helps, I can post a video on youtube or something like that to get a better idea what I mean. Thanks in advance.

Is your voice just chopping out? Or sounding like a robot?

More robotic than anything else. I've been playing on Youtube (mass Effect 2). If you're looking for an example can hear the difference here.
