Hello guys,

I'm playing a lot of different games however when I start using fraps it gives a major lag. I have a Quad core processor so if I put the game and fraps on a different core it's a huge improvement however I was looking for a way I have no lag at all. I was wondering what I need to do to improve it and I was also wondering if it's possible to fraps with 30 fps and have a high ingame fps because at the moment if I record with 30 I also have 30 fps ingame. Let me know.

Greetings!

The biggest bottleneck seems to be what device you are recording footage to. If you have a devoted drive with nothing but fraps recording to it, you are going to probably get much better performance than a single-drive setup where your Operating System, Game, and Fraps directory are.

Also, you are limited to playing your games at the framerate fraps is set to record at. This can be very annoying for some games like shooters, so I suggest checking if your particular game title offers saving replay files. That way you can play the game at the maximum possible performance, even with lower graphic settings to squeeze as much framerate out as possible, and then go back and turn the graphics up for frapsing the playback of the replay file.

An example of this can be found here:

Hope this helps some.
